Crochet "Chat"

Hey guys, I've been crocheting for years now and right now I'm making my wedding dress. So far I'm working on motifs and it's going to be ocean themed:

I'm using a 1.5 mm hook :)

Cool sea horse!

Ocean themed wedding dress, that is bold and playful! Can't wait to see pics when it is done. My FIL and new MIL had a fishing themed reception w/ floater bobs, and netting and goldfish in stemmed bowls as décor, it was really cool, and unexpected.

This started as a cowl-had already made one using the crocodile stitch but the yarn wasn't as soft as I wanted so started a new one and for some reason, the neck area isn't as stretchy as the first one, not enough for me to get it over my own fat head, which made me realize that I had made an interesting hat! I put it up for sale on our new website (check it out and sign the guestbook, everyone!) www.blueroocreations.com. There's a blog and a farm sales page, etc, and other crafts besides crochet.

This was my first try at the crocodile stitch and I'm keeping this one for myself.

This one is the one that turned out to be a cool hat.

Thank you! Right now I'm in the bare bones phase, so I don't have much done. The wedding decor you mentioned sounds really creative and cute, I bet it looked great!

There wedding was very budget conscious, here is a link to my pics from the wedding and reception, there may be some ideas you like. This is a FB album, but I got a link that will work even if you don't have FB

One of my absolute favorite things is the life preserver (and the fish)

I thought there were more pics of the décor in that album, haven't looked at it in a while, but it hits the high points.

I love love the cake. If we weren't having a private ceremony with just the two of us, I would snag so many of these ideas! I love the fishnet table runners, and the combo cat-tail goldfish centerpiece is very very creative. Everything looked gorgeous!

My sister's in law did all the planning and I think they did an amazing job, suited both their personalities so well. They both were widowed from near 50 year marriages and he nearly died just months before the wedding, was in ICU and family was called in and everything. They are so well suited to each other.

Yes we all got a chuckle out of the cake topper!

My son in South Korea commented on my hat, pictured above.

"....Looks like a hat for a crazy bird lady in 1920s London."

Sheesh, no appreciation for the finer things in life. Kids!

yeah it was pretty easy, when i started it all i could remember was that im not supposed to finish the stitch, just leave it on and then i was hoping i got it right on the return row, lol. Will be a lot easier with a longer hook too, im sure.

What is this magical stitch? Do you not have to crochet in ends? What?!?!? That would make changing colors 100% easier for me! and my work would look alot better too!
