Crochet "Chat"

Looks great, Kassaundra!

I'm looking for a few crochet patterns for when we go camping for a week... I'm at a complete block. I either want to make a lapghan (I don't usually do big projects; I forget about them and never finish them

) or something like that. Any ideas? I don't know if I have the attention span to even do a lapghan... Attention span of a goldfish here.
Look on Ravelry.com There are tons of free patterns there.

After I finish the fusion quilt I am currently working on, my next crochet side of my next fusion quilt is going to be this

Looks more complicated then it really is. I think each square will be about 4 inches, but have to get the fabric side design set before knowing exactly how big each square will be.

wow, neat

Finished my Wavy Squares Afghan, but my modem was struck by lightning and lost a port so I cannot upload anything and sometimes can't even get on the net. Will put up pics when my new modem gets here in a couple of days.

Need some help with a ripple afghan. The edges keep getting wider and are not square. The distance between the last peak and the outside edge increases with every row. What am I doing wrong? The peak is 5 DCs in one stitch, so when you make the next row at that point, it automatically increases the stitches from the top of the peak to the outside edge. I know the edge is supposed to be straight, but if I try to make the same number of stitches from the peak to the edge, it makes a stair step edge, not a straight one. I can't post pictures because my internet is spotty and I have no upload capability until we get a new modem next week. Any help is appreciated.

I just got done with a ripple afghan. Let's see if this helps... My pattern worked like this... at the peak of the ripple, I would chain 3 in one sc. At the bottom trough, I would skip 2 sc. This would create the ripple. On the edges, the pattern called for a decrease of the last two sc, or the equivalent of half of the decrease of the normal ripple.

Does this make sense?

I finally found a youtube (can sometimes download but not upload) and I finally figured it out about the decrease, so thank you! That was the problem. The instructions for this afghan didn't tell me to do that, so the ends just kept being slanted and each row was making it wider and wider. It just said repeat row 2 until it's long enough, but nothing about any decrease. Might have been a good thing to mention, eh? Now, when I turn and chain 3 (this is a DC afghan with 5 DC at the peak and DC5tog in the valley), I skip a chain then DC2tog over the next two stitches. It's working out now, AFTER I frogged all but the starting chain and second row.

I'm almost back to where I quit and unraveled the whole thing. I think it went faster the second time, LOL.

Hello!

I joined BYC back in 2009, but had to get rid of my too-large flock (I got carried away...)

I have been battling depression, and my husband told me he thought I should get a few hens again, because they were the one hobby that I truly loved... well, until I learned how to crochet, that is...

I am currently working on the "Lion Brand" baby ripple afghan for my cousin who is expecting a baby girl soon. I chose to do it in white with pink and bright green stripes. It's turning out really nice!

It is nice to be back on BYC again. I don't know too many people who love to raise chickens and crochet, so it's nice to have an online forum to "meet" people that have the same likes that I do.
