Crochet "Chat"

Anybody else notice the difference in thickness between the variegated and solid colors in the red heart super saver? I'm guessing this would throw of the gauge considerably. Oh darn...I now have an excuse to go buy some yarn and maybe some other stuff.

Me too.

I've got about three or four projects going. Trying to use up all my yarn. I've got 10 circles from the last swap that are too small. I'm working on the Beach squares. (I've measured at round three or four and they're about 4 1/2 " so I can do some for a granny afghan) I'm doing some square and round grannies for two more afghans. The round will be the 6" squares from the last swap. I've got more than 50 of the small ones done in all different colors. I will probably use the pattern from the Beach thing to make an afghan too. AND I plan to knit some squares for the church donation too. AND I've still got boxes and boxes of squares from all previous swaps.

Oh and that lavender thing is from a pattern book I have which I intend to just keep adding to to make a scarf for my deer lawn ornament. Remember. "Creative people are never neat"

Love all the projects. I've noticed that having at least two at one time helps me to not get bored of either. Your beach colored square looks awesome!

Has anyone tried boot cuffs? A friend was telling me how expensive they are to buy. Quick you tube search showed they're not difficult at all...

I hope they're the right size. The girl they're for has 14 inch calves, these are about 13 inches. I'm not sure how much stretch they'll need so I'm going to see how they fit before I make more.

I've been making a lot of hats as boredom busters, mostly pretty basic but I started doing some flowers as something new to try...

I hadn't seen any of her tutorials, but those cuffs are nice and simple! I don't have any bulky yarn here, but I may try something similar with 4 and just adjust hook size. I like the look of the bulky, though. I made another pair that are just double crochet in the back loops, so they have a ribbed look. Topped with a scallop, then chained across the top for a lacy look. I figured why make the body of the cuff fancy looking....it's hidden by the boot!

You could hold 2 strands together in lieu of bulky yarn, Rachel. I do that quite a bit. The pet beds I make use 3 or even 4 strands with a big hook.
