Crochet "Chat"

If I showed you a pic of the son that I sometimes claim, you all would laugh like everyone at the stores and stuff.
For some reason, having a kid that is only technically yours thanks to Jim, makes it hilarious to explain that he's not my husband, nor the father of my kids, they are his sisters, and yes! I was only 10 when he was born! LOL

Thought I'd show ya'll my rug rats...

Anyone got a good cure or treatment for a chicken that is whezzing?? I have her in ICU (a pet carrier in the greenhouse and / storage area)and she has a warm bed of straw of her own, vitamin enriched water and food. No one else in the coop has this signs or trouble.

She seems to be gasping as she breaths sometimes, but has been whezzing for a few days now,

last week I noticed she was whistling as she breathed, and now she whezzes. She still gave me an egg yesterday.

Any suggestions are welcome

When I brought those silkies home early this winter I had one that was doing that and I believe it was SE told me to use Apple cider vinegar and garlic cloves in the water. It worked.

Cute families! I'll try to show off my daughter later. Or you can scan through the "Faces to Users" thread and dig up the christmas pic of my fam.

Now I have to run to the store.

I think Karan did a spring dance for all of us! Thanks Karan!

Check in with you later!

Karen, you could also try some of that VetRX, it's like vaporub for livestock.
Just a dab under the wings up against thier chest. It uh soaks? into the skin and helps with clearing the lungs. Our Barred rock roo when he came to us was wheezing so bad, he had to lean up against just to stay standing. A dab of that, a cycle of penicillian, he was up and runnin.

Skand your SO,wrote in emergencies to do the penicillin round $10 a bottle at Farm and Barn with injections in the breast muscle for 10 days. Then vites and electriolytes after. I think for my banty it was 1/4 cc once a day. Skand would know better than me what the dose is. Good luck.

AC and garlic sounds good. I had suggested that to someone in emergencies and got thouroghly 'scolded' by the more higher ups of bird care a month ago. But it seems to work for many.

So I usually dont suggest much in emergencies any more.
