Crochet "Chat"

Karan cochins are just silly birds, so fun to watch them play their little games outside in the summer. I like the one where they put their wings out and run as fast as they can across the yard, playing Mommy look at me I 'm an airplane.

Thank You Scrambled! I need to find the pictures of Nate when he shaved his head and then put a big mustache on (glued) and some hair just around the sides like he was going bald on top, and then he dressed up in hippy 70s clothes, beads, fringed suede vest and he actually went to work like that for a week!. When I saw the pictures I didnt even recognize him. He can be such a jokester sometimes. Then he was on a baseball team and he got the whole team to dress like that and took pictures. It was just hilarious. I will post the pictures when I get them on the computer, I promise. You Guys/gals will hoot!!!!!!

ACV and garlic is the choice for those who need/want to go organic and aren't allowed to use the antibiotics and whatnot. I am surprised someone "yelled" at you, Tiki. I am glad that we have a corner here that is an all around support group for chicken-aholics and crochet-aholics.

Skand your SO,wrote in emergencies to do the penicillin round $10 a bottle at Farm and Barn with injections in the breast muscle for 10 days. Then vites and electriolytes after. I think for my banty it was 1/4 cc once a day. Skand would know better than me what the dose is. Good luck.

AC and garlic sounds good. I had suggested that to someone in emergencies and got thouroghly 'scolded' by the more higher ups of bird care a month ago. But it seems to work for many.

So I usually dont suggest much in emergencies any more.

Yeah it's bad when you get scolded for offering up a suggestion/idea/thought/opinion, when all that was asked is... what is your suggestions/ideas/thoughts/ or opinions on how to...(fill in the blank)
I learned my lesson also! Now, I just take care of my birds, and yalls when ya ask! hehehe
Tiki, you really shouldnt stoke up Jim's ego anymore then what he's got already!

I do have to fit in the same room with him, ya know.

But, yeah, the dosage for little birds (chicks, banties) is 1/4 cc , and big, standard sized birds is 1/2 cc.. the little insulin sized shots are measured in tenths of a ml So converting it to CC's is, for someone else to play coversion chart. lol

And Jen4 that is a lovely brood you have, very handsome and pretty. love I love the 'tude'. Isnt it great? Well, not always lol but I loved them when they were that age, most of the time.

Thanks... We are into the lovely teenage years now... Dd is 14, Ds is 12, Ds 10 and Dnephew 15 ( we have custody of him, alittle over a year now). Most days they drive me crazy, if it wasnt for school I dont know what I would do, I dread summer vacation

Just yesterday I was telling a friend I would take on 20 babies any day compared to the teenage years.... I hope it gets better

Yes he did, he ordered 4 dozen total, well the way we thought, he'd send two dozen at a time. By the time he got 4 dozen boxed up, and sent, and they got a little delayed in shipping. Most didnt develop, the ones left did grow, but we only had one pip. It could have been several issues that caused it. But with the situation we find ourselves in now, it's a great thing they didnt hatch! Jim wouldnt have wanted to sell any.
But we will get them again. Gosh, I was so anxiously awaiting those longcrowers! The only time you hope and pray that you get a bator full of roosters!
