Nothing wrong with having dementia, you can act goofy, tell people what you really think of them, wear funny clothes or run around in your pj's and robe all day, make faces and rude noises at people and get away with it.!

Hey, Jen4, that sure is a nice Louisville Cardinal there!

I'm hoping my momma Robin comes back this spring and builds her nest back on my front porch again, and my pair of Cardinals use the nesting site in my trellis of roses and clematis bushes.

Also putting out nesting boxes for the finches and sparrows around here.

Yes I gotta get my gourd bird houses out for the wrens to nest in.

And make sure my Hummingbird feeders are clean. I plan to fix up a little pond to set my bird bath up to and have it ready too.

I want ducks

But everyone says they're messy. And I don't need anything else that's messy!

What do you use to make the holes in your gourds Karan? My Grandpa used to make gourd birdhouses, and I can't remember what he used to make the hole...I think it was one of those things that you use to drill holes into doors to put the knobs in, but I'm not for sure.

I am really really REALLY sore today guys. Running up that hill yesterday when DS fell of the lawnmower was not a good thing for me. I'm just trying to take it easy as best I can. Been laying on the couch most of the day.

I got stuff to do!!!!!

Karan, what I did one year was get two of those plastic kiddie wading pools. One was the smallest size they had and the other was the largest size they had, I placed them inside each other and put the bird bath in the center of the smaller one. You can dig a pit to seat the larger one in so that it is at ground level, then take enough cinder blocks to support the smaller one and place it on those, make sure to support the center portion and then place your bird bath in that, especially if it one of those that has a fountain in it. You can place some of the cinder blocks on their sides and allow for any fish to swim through the holes under the upper pool for shade and protection from predators.

We did the kiddie pool one year while we still lived in Olatha KS with a fountain the next year we dig out the pool and poured concrete and had used large flagstone and native rocks it was really cool. So we were thinking in that same line. But your Idea may give me a way to give the ducks part of it and the upper smaller part for birds and a few water plants.

Cute pic Jen! I hope that little birdie is right.

Okie: HOpe that back gets better! I was there just a few days ago. I walked like a granny for about 3 days.

Mommies don't get the breaks though.

Sounds like a cute idea with the pond Karan. I've always wanted to do that fountain thing but I know my kids and the daycare kids would think it was a wadding pool. I can see it now. They can't even stay out of the mud puddles. We were out yesterday and they were all muddy and sandy from the sandbox. It was all worth it. The chickens even got to free roam around the yard. I kept having to go round them up.

And of course all the daycare kids thought they had to help.

I've been hooking baby items today while the kids play inside.

It's nice here today, in the mid to upper 70's, and kindof balmy. They had talked about rain on one of the nights at the end of this week, and I forgot which one. Not like it matters anyway cause here in Oklahoma it changes every 5 seconds!!
