As for the front post trreble crochet-single crochet, I have done the front post before (take alot of concentration, but it is easy). I think you are talking about 2 diffrent stitches. There is a front post treble crochet, front post (FP) double crochet (the one I have done) & there is a FP single crochet.Here is a link that might help, gives video & a still picture.

Heres what the special stitch for my afghan says: Front post treble crochet -single crochet (fptr-sc)

Yo twice, insert hook from front to back of corresponding sc 2 rows below (sc directly below in line on same angle),wrapping the hook around the back of the stitch and exiting from the back to front on the opposite side of the same corresponding sc, yo, draw up a lp [ yo,draw through 2 lps on hook] twice, insert hook in sc of current row (now directly behind the tr), yo, draw up a lp. yo. draw through 3 lps on hook.

Im gonna to make my DH this expect for the hearts so just rippled. I never done a ripple either so kinda scared to try it all at once. Ill maybe do a small scarf in the hearts to start with. I'll post pics.

I havent tried it yet. I gonna try hopefully today on some scrap yarn. I love the afghan really want to make it work. When you said you havn't heard about it i was like oh no the magazine printed it wrong. If i can get it ill make a small scarf out of fit too i think.
