Very slow.. but I'm getting it. My hands fall a sleep. I do a little than walk away. I don't no if I can ever make anything but I will keep trying.
Thanks for asking!! That made me feel good...

Mine used to fall asleep when I first started crocheting but I realized I was putting pressure on the nerves of my hand by the way I held my hook. So slowly I learned to hold my hook and yarn differently. It helped a lot.
WriterofWords I love the lavender one. You should sell that one on ebay. For the best pics take them outside on an overcast day.

Bare bottom ~ (hehehe ~ that looks ... funny..lol!) My hands also used to fall asleep, and in fact, I ended up having to have both of my hands go through surgery due to carpal tunnel, but it was not from crocheting, but merely from the fact that I was pre-dispositioned to it, and that I do a lot of things with my hands.
But I can tell you, if you have your hands falling asleep from just a few minutes of crochet, you really should get them checked out ~ seriously, if surgery is an option, it is worth it!! I did not realize how bad my hands were until I dropped my then 4-month old son, due to not realizing I wasn't holding him tight enough. My hands & arms were just numb. It was a wake-up call for me, and thankfully, he didn't fall far, and onto carpet, but it scared the doody outta me, and by the time he was 6 months old, I was back on my feet, and recovered completely.
He is now almost 12, taller than me, and has a moustache fuzz ~ lol ~ hard to believe! But I just must say again, no time is a good time to have your hands out of commission, but compared to the continual nerve damage, there is no better time than as soon as possible to get it taken care of. It was a financial burden for us, and I had a new baby, but it was either surgery or no hands in the future ~ and none of us could live with that. I wish you well, and hope for the best~

I believe I can get you some more yarn. If you want it let me know and I'll make arrangements and pm you for an address. I also have a stash of crochet hooks that I'll be glad to donate. I can only use so many.

I'll be happy to pm you! We started taking pics of our stuff today to keep a record of what we've done. We lost a bunch of pics of the first items we dropped off for donation because I forgot my digital camera and used a throw away,, and it didn't work. Wait until you see the shawl one of the moms made for her first major project. She donated to us to use in our raffle or in an auction.

Wait until you see the pics I'm going to post tomorrow or the next day of the blankets and the two shawls,, I just can't believe how they have done in such a short time.

Here are some of our larger projects done!! Blankets and shawls,, I'm so proud!

Thank you so much! We are having our party right now and counting up what we have to send out to our charities. After break, and during it, they are going to make things for themselves and their families too, it's only fair that they get to keep some of their wonderful work.

Oh my gosh! Those are beautiful!!! I cannot believe they've only been doing this for a few months! It took me a couple of years before I got any good at it. Even then I only made simple DC afgans.
These kids are amazing!

BTW I love your slogan!

Thank you! The kids came up with the slogan all on their own. They couldn't decide between Showing Compassion or Sharing Compassion, so they voted on it. I'm very proud of them too. The Project Linus blankets have to be 40 x 40 at the least so we have to find a new place to donate, we'll find it though!
