Hey, I got distracted with baby stuff and forgot I had uploaded this picture to show off my new son and also the blanket I made for him that I was talking about a few weeks ago but never got around to posting a picture of.
He is laying on the one I made for him and wrapped in the one I made for my first son.

My mother recently asked me to take pictures of 2 babyghans she made and I thought I would share them on here since I think they are pretty. She is trying to start an album of all of her work so she can show it to anyone that wants to hire her to make blankets for them.
I am just proud of her work and like to show it off.

The first one is what she gave me when I had my baby shower and the second one is what she gave to a cousin of mine that is expecting a girl. They look better in person. Couldn't get the lighting right to show the colors right.

Elizabeth, they are so lovely. I'm glad to hear you are proud of your mother. I think of all the patterns I use, I like the granny square best. It's so versatile and so many ways to make it. Besides it's like a quilt...you can make it out of scraps. I started about five years ago making granny square afghans for my grandchildren planning on using all my yarn stash. As I ran out of a color I would buy more of that color and now I have just as much if not more in my stash. Granny squares are so easy to make also and relaxing because you don't have to keep looking at the pattern. I hope your mom gets a nice album together. Tell her lots of luck for me.....

Granny squares are my mothers favorites too. She does exactly like you, she says she is going to use up all her scraps to put them to use and make a granny square afghan but befor she knows what she has done, she ends up with more yarn than what she started with. lol She has even hit up my stash a few times when she is looking for a certain color. I have enough yarn to cloth an army so I don't mind.
