Crochet "Chat"

Does anyone have the pattern for the 3D Daisy Granny Square? I recently found a picture of one of the blankets but the website that was offering the pattern took it down. I would LOVE to make a blanket for my niece with the pattern, the blanket was so adorable!!

baustin~ Congratulations on finishing your granddaughter's quilt. I bet that was a good feeling. I know she will cherish it. Please post a pic of it before you give it to her. I haven't gotten in the full crocheting swing just yet. I finished 4 squares. 3 are basic granny square design and 1 is a new pattern. Took me forever to pick one out and I might try another new one my next sitting. Yes, it's good we have plenty of time to complete them.

Bleenie~ That baby blanket for your friend is precious!!!!

Of course she will love it even more since it's hand made! I always think hand made crafted gifts are the best! Love them!!!

Well I have a feeling what got my little feather footed cuckoo marans pullet over the weekend. This afternoon I was upstairs and could hear all my chickens & turkeys making a ruckus so I peeked out the window to see what was going on. They were all on alert staring toward the back of the yard. I was scanning the backyard and looking towards the woods and didn't see anything at first. I thought maybe they saw a deer in the woods. Our yard is full of acorns & walnuts that they love. I'm still scanning looking all over the place. Then a coyote comes waltzing slowly out of the woods alone in broad day light out of no where. I scream for DD as I'm running downstairs. DD immediately ran outside making all kind of noise and chased it back to the woods. So we gathered everyone up from their hiding place, counted heads and they put them in chicken jail. I even put the duck's pool in the run and refilled it w/ fresh water. I was extremely lucky and didn't lose a one this time. Looks like it's back to chicken jail and only supervised free ranging.

Do a search for "pattern daisy flower charity square." The PDF is available for download from arizona.edu.

There was a reason I didn't post the link. "Krochet Krystal," the author of the pattern, has removed tutorials and the PDF (Ravelry), closed her Yahoo group to new members and deleted every instructional post she could. I actually read scanned all eight pages of "Daisy Flower Charity Square" on Ravelry but could find no explanation for her decision. Strikes me as rather petty, but that's me.

Here's the explanation, copy & pasted from her blog page...

To all the blog readers:

The journey has come to an end. I embarked on this venture as a fluke, and continued with it because I was amazed at the kindness and generosity of the crocheters throughout the world (literally).

In the past few months, I have seen more than my share of those people who seem to not understand charity, not understand kindness, and most of all who on a regular basis really make my days filled with more strife and disappointment than happiness.

I have received emails telling me how horribly written my pattern is, that it is unfit for offering. I have received nasty replies to my denials to the group because I am trying to protect members from spammers with vague applications. Recently, my appeals to those trying to profit from the pattern to cease and desist have been met with implications that I am a bully and have no right to request that my intellectual property be used for the greater good.

And so, I have decided to close the door that welcomed the generous people for so long, but now brings to me those that lack empathy, kindness and decency. My energies will be solely directed now at creating beautiful gifts from the squares I currently have, and having only positive thoughts in my head, heart and hands as I think of the people out there that UNDERSTAND not only how to turn fiber into finished product, but also that there is another level where we take that gift we are given to make gifts for others.

Regards,
Krystal

Bleenie, I love, love, love the 'Scovy in your avatar. We've had an outstanding hatch of 'scovies this year with some pretty good colors to boot! A couple more brown and some mottled blue besides the white and the black & white.
