Second Crocokpot egg pipped!

I gave both pipped eggs to paint so they will be nice and snug under her when they hatch.

Took a photo earlier because I couldn’t wait anymore....

they’re too cute!




They just peeked out to say hi!

Both chicks are already pecking around and being curious. Such healthy babies

I snuck broody Paint indoors!
Still screechy, with a good chance of staying on the nest tomorrow morning.

Some of the eggs are rather porous and thin, so I’m thinking of giving her the stronger shelled eggs to sit on in order to minimize risk of her breaking an egg.

Time to go candle and sort some eggs!

She’s a satin....but with all her beard and crest snipped off

Pulled the obviously dead egg and did an eggtopsy, it was malpositioned with the head above the right wing. Didn’t make it to internal pip.... Maybe it didn’t have enough space to move to pierce the membrane...?
