Hi all,
My barred rock has had a full crop for almost 2 weeks and I've tried just about everything: Coconut oil, massage, feeding papaya, yogurt, etc. I've been reading articles on here as a guide to help me treat her but, ultimately, I don't know what's causing the crop not to empty. It feels squishy and doughy but there's no sour smell coming from her head or beak. (And I have a good sense of smell.) I finally gave in and administered 1/2 inch of miconazole nitrate twice yesterday and plan to do it again today. I think the only reason she's still alive is because she was a pretty big bird. She's lost a lot of weight, isn't eating much and her droppings are watery, scant and pretty stinky. She's been pooping out these very strange beige lumps. Does anyone know what this could be??? I'm at a loss as to how to help her. Any advice is appreciated, especially if you know what these weird lumps are!
