So two nice ladies came yesterday to look at my mare. One decided to see if she could ride the horse under our pop up sun shade. Her head scraped the nylon and it made a funny rasping zipping sound and then the mare got a touch startled. At this point the woman's head hit the inside of the tent and it lifted up and then the horse took a startled mini leap forward. The woman's head hit the inside of the frame and the little metal hook holding the cover to the frame snagged her scalp just as the horse started to jump a bucket. Her head hit the frame and knocked her over backwards and her head hit the horse in the behind. Being attacked from behind while in mid jump upset the horse even more. The horse ran about 15 feet, bucked twice, turned around, and looked at us like 'what WAS that?!!!'. And then she just stood there. The woman stayed on the entire time and stated 'That was cool!', paused, and then said in a surprised voice 'I'm bleeding.'. The metal hook had sliced her scalp pretty good and she had bitten her lip. The horse calmed Immediately and went back to her nice, normal circles.
The other nice lady was a nurse. She showed me how to make temporary 'stitches' by tying together little bits of hair on the opposite side of the head wound.
You guys, they bought the horse anyway. Yikes!!
