Kathy, my friends who are coming to crossroads are having second thoughts about traveling back two days with a rooster in the car

I really wanted him but, I don't think it can happen.

What will you be asking for a pair?

Hi, Jim! As of right now now, I am thinking of bringing only one pair to sell. My cargo space is limited for this show due to logistics. The pair I am bring for sale is $100. I am also debating about whether or not to enter a display, trios, or single entries.
I am also planning to be at The Heart of the Ozarks show, so you do have the opportunity to look at some of my geese at Crossroads, and then, if you are interested, we could send some pictures back and forth and I could bring extras to that show. I will have more room. We will also be showing at Columbus, OH, and plan to show at Shawnee, OK this year, although I have not seen any info out on that show yet.

Birdboy15, can you PM me with some pictures of what you have available. I'll send you some as well. I am in need of some out-cross lines and am definitely interested swapping a couple of geese (you do mean geese and not ganders or a pair?). I have some from this year and last year's hatches. I am also interested in seeing pictures of the parents and other related birds. I, of course, am prepared to do the same for you.

Thanks, folks!

Can I ask a newbie question?

DD has shown only in 4H and our 4H's local show. We do have a nice Large fowl Polish Cockeral, and a couple others. Would it be a good expereince for her to show here? Or are we better off just attending and looking?

edited to add: it's only an hour's drive so we plan to attend at least one day for sure!

Since you are close, I would say absolutely enter. What better way to learn and compare your stock with others. Be sure to take part in the youth showmanship.

Being lucky enough to experience and take part in this show is something that really makes for pleasant memories! I promise. I attended 2006, and wouldn't miss it again for nearly anything.

If she wants to enter, I would let her. There will be stiff competition, but there will be someone there who can explain more about your bird, why he was marked the way he was, and so on. It's a great learning experience.

x2!

Go for it and GOOD LUCK!! (Decide quickly! I believe entries close on Monday.)

Go ahead and show. It will be a learning experience for her. Plus she can enter the showmanship with her bird. Perhaps a breeder will even help her get a start of good quality birds in her breed.
