Cubalaya Thread For Sharing Pics and Discussing Our Birds

I know Jim has done a lot of work in getting rid of the white in the tails and wings. The ones I've had recently haven't had any white. That being said, the original birds I started with, which were second hand Zook birds, all had white in the wings or tail by 2 years old. All of them. Most had white in the tail by 6 months old. This is one reason I've not shown them, all the ones without white came from Jim, and I won't show those. The ones I breed always have white by 2-3 years old.

you know how you guys were saying that there is interpretaion to the standard and that is doesn't say a specific angle for were the tail should be i looked at the bantam standard that we have the other day and acording to the ABA the angle of the back should be 20 degrees below the horizontal and same with the tails. now for the females it says the back should be 20 degrees below and for the tail 25 degrees below the horizontal. i am not saying that sould be set in stone just that this may be a good guide.

The only white ever in tails was from stress during feather growth. None from age. The blacks however get quite a bit.

Thanks for the answers fellows. I always enjoy learning all I can about the various existing strains especially in comparison to my own.

Well folks, I repurposed my my life change center (The Good News Camp) as an emergency lodging center for victims of the Oklahoma tornadoes and have contacted the officials to start send victims my way. I do not expect to have any time to be on here for the foreseeable future, so I bid you all farewell for now. Pray that my Cubas lay overtime, I am going to need the eggs, and pray for the victims who have lost everything. Blessings
