The outcome would be seen in the pullets not in the stags. The pullets would be either stippled or wheaten: stippled is dominate if I remember correctly. So if the cock came from a stippled hen (true bbr) the pullets should be stippled. If he came from a wheaten then the pullets would be wheaten.

Some will tell you they can tell the difference in the cock birds from a stippled hen vs a wheaten hen. I cannot.

i wonder if salidan ever used them for grading. they are good sized, have long tails, oriental, healthy and vigorous. the bad side, they have green legs, their tail is kinda high, and they are not tame to humans but aggressive. the color is off a bit too

I have never used China Games to grade with in my Cubalayas.... until this year. I had rec'd a very nice China Game cock/hen from a friend in MI. I lost the cock bird in the big dog attack last summer. So, I decided instead of getting rid of the hen I'd find some way to use her. I decided that the grading I'd run this year with the Cubalayas would be with that hen.
I generally do a new grading with the Cubalayas every few years. Some I keep after all the way through to the end; some I discard after only a generation or two because it didn't 'do' what I intended; thus, I don't know if I'll keep these or not, but thought since I had the hen I'd give it a try.

By the way, I agree with gallo. Breeding to anything with white earlobes is just foolish. I just couldn't think of any other way to use this hen.

I also think the white we fight in the Cubalaya earlobes is because somebody years and years ago put in Phoenix. I don't think it is from the Spanish Games.

I am only asking, because I have three types of hens, but only one type of rooster and I just want to have some idea what the offspring will look like, mainly the males.

I had a basic question for someone more knowledgable. What should a yearling hen weigh? I have a blue red that's 2.5. Is there any chance that she will be up to standard by three years old. Also since these birds are slow to mature are there good age/weight benchmarks to tell if they are on pace to "make weight?" Thanks.

from my short experience and from what i have seen here, if you keep her to 3 years old, the 2.5 lbs. would be 3 to 3.5 lbs. not sure if all strains do this or i am just overfeeding my older hens.

You will most likely get Brown Reds with red shoulders in the males. I would think it also possible that you get a mix; it will depend on the purity of the Brown Reds.

Cubakid, the bird in question was being shown by Tom Topper. I was told it was out of your stock , but it was for sure not a Zook bird, just different looking. Very large size with thick shanks. Zook had a cockerel there that maybe is the best looking BB Red Cuba I've seen, good size, elegant, beautiful. I am fairly sure it was out of a Zook / Brush cross, just excellent. You were complimented on what you've done with your whites, the people I talked to were impressed with them. I had to leave before AOSB was judged, I will try and see who won. I'd bet Zook, as he had entered some nice OEG and Asil as well as 2 Cubalayas.
