Good morning, IM! Sorry about that restless night!G'morning all. Slept late today, had a restless night. Happy Friday!
Hi Val, thank you. What are doing today?Good morning, IM! Sorry about that restless night!
I am still cleaning. I'm so slow at everything these days.Hi Val, thank you. What are doing today?
Sounds lovely! I've slowed down quite a bit since I got laid off. Why hurry, it'll still be there to do tomorrow if it's not done today.I am still cleaning. I'm so slow at everything these days.If I get a burst of energy, I think I'll plant some bulbs, or maybe they are tubers. Last year I had asian lilies all around the house. They were so beautiful. Then I found out they are poisonous to cats, and the garden beds is where my cats like to lay. So I had to go around and dead head them as soon as they bloomed. Then I pulled them all out. Replacing them with Dahlias and Peonies this year. I also have Hostas, Irises and Tulips in the garden beds, so I'll have to keep the Dahlias and Peonies under control I suppose.
I don't know. It's always one grand experiment after another around here.
Good morning everyone!
Brewed a vat of coffee this morning, y'all have at it! Tea pots whistling!
lol, It's kind of a funny story how we ended up with one. We went through 2 riding lawn mowers and a push mower in like 3 years I think it was? My husband must have been trying to catch air over tree roots or something because the only mower that we still have in working order is the rotary push mower.
Anyway, I had to call someone to keep the lawn managed every time ours died anyway so since we have had such terrible luck with lawnmowers we looked at what we were spending on them vs just paying someone to mow every other week during the summer months it ended up being almost the equivalent. The slight difference was worth it just to not have to be outside baking in the sun on those 90-100° days.
Gladiolas are my favorite! I used to buy a bouquet of them every week when I lived in CA. They just keep blooming in the vase! Tubers and bulbs are the way to go for someone who doesn't want to plant every year. My goal is mostly self sustaining flower gardens. I've never been good at this, but have discovered Hostas love it here, so they stay.Sounds lovely! I've slowed down quite a bit since I got laid off. Why hurry, it'll still be there to do tomorrow if it's not done today.
I have Gladiolus but I don't know where I'm going to put them yet. Probably won't get them in until next year. I'd like to designate a bed for tubers only, we'll see though.
