Curious Incubation Method

Candled tonight and Most of the "brown" eggs seemed to look good with big black blobs in them but I dont see any movement inside the egg. Hope they are all still ok. When is someone going to invent a ultrasound for eggs? lol

Trust me they work much better than sponges. The sponge can dry out, but those suckers hold a lot of moisture. LOL I'm not the only one that uses them for this reason. Search it on here and you'll see.
Another good thing about the feminine hygiene products is that for the most part they are "sterile".. plus after hatch they get thrown away unlike a sponge that you have to try to disinfect and re-use and HOPE that it isn't growing anything nasty in the bator.

Exactly! I toss sponges and I'm such a penny pincher.........ok I'm broke, so throwing away money just kills me. I used to think hygiene products were expensive until I started using them for a whole different purpose. Then I became thrifty! LOL

I wasnt having the humidity problem before i put the shelf cloth in there. The water is in a shallow pan that goes under the rack. Is the cloth blocking the heat from getting to the water now?
