One of my silkie rooster's spurs are curing in an odd direction. It comes out of his leg and then travels up abruply. As it curls to the side it touches his back toe. I am a bit afraid it will hurt him and if I need to remove the spur somehow. It is too tight to use the hot potatoe meathod so i have no idea how. His other spur is short but straight. I do not have a picture but this is what it roughly looks like:

In real life his spur is a bit worse and the curl is closer together. I will try to take a picture of what it really looks like soon.

Thanks,

Can you get a pair of dog nail clippers over the end of it amd just clip a small amount, perhaps an 1/8 inch once a week or every two weeks. The ends can also be filed down, but I would try to trim it.
