My adult son, finally saw Guardians of the Galaxy and enjoyed it BUT, his favorite was Drax. I'm okay with that but, for his second favorite, he had none. He didn't think Groot was the greatest thing since ice cream. What's a mom to do? I love him anyway. I told him he needed to see it again to appreciate all that Groot did for the gang.

My son saw Interstellar and said it would have been 4 stars except for Anne Hathaways acting. He got a much better take on the story with one viewing, than I did with two. Of course he is 38 years younger than me and can see and hear better. Okay, he's more observant and brainy than I am too.

We saw "Theory of Everything," the story behind Stephen Hawking - my brother felt it was between 3.5 and 4 stars, so I'm putting it down at 3.75, I would rate it 3.5. Performances were extremely good, I would have rated the movie higher if it had not been so "sanitized." I would have preferred a more truthful version warts and all, it is still a very compelling story. I'm leaving it at this point so no spoilers will be revealed. The movie is upbeat despite the subject matter .

Diva, some parts of Divergent were okay, but the main concept was too silly to me, and the whole thing was clearly written for teenage girls. Also, the people in charge of the fight scenes had absolutely no sense of tactics, or practical hand to hand combat stances. On a positive note, most people firing weapons in the movie actually aimed, which surprised me. Also, the characters had no depth to them, and the development of the main characters relationship with her love interest didn't feel at all realistic.

I gave the movie 3 out of 10 starts on imdb. And I should have trusted my instincts when I saw that anyone reviewing the movie in text format only gave it an below 5 rating. How in the heck it still averages almost a 7 I can't understand. Probably because it's trying to ride the whole "Strong female lead, dystopian future, Twilight Hunger Games" wave.

deedee, we saw 'Theory of Everything" today. I'm with your brother on this show-4 stars for sure. Eddie Redmayne as Hawking gave what I felt was an Oscar worthy performance. This dude can also sing - he played Marius in "les Miserables". See this movie!
