cursed with broodies! because...

    who else gets a broody WHITE LEGHORN in January???

    and a broody RIR!

    and a broody polish/white leghorn mix!

    and a broody black sexlink!

    and a broody red sexlink!

    and a broody cochin!

    and a broody silkie (well... that's a given [​IMG])

    GIRLS! I DO NOT NEED YOUR SERVICES!! Now please calm those hormones and get back to laying! [​IMG]

    slip the eggs under one of them from your bator that you are having trouble with on your other thread and let your broodies hatch em. That way you know some of the eggs will make it.
    Broodies are 100% better than incubators.

    Wow, you got it bad! I'm not sure I have enough nest boxes for that many.....

    hmmm. .. do you have a room or garage to seperate the broodiest hen into a box with?
    I would give it a go. but I am kinda nutty like that. [​IMG]

    Hence the incubator with chicks in the house for a while.

    I still cannot believe I have a broody white leghorn, for goodness sake - I thought broodiness was bred out of them?!

    WHat ARE you feeding them? Maybe it's the food causing hormonal changes. If so, you can get rich on the formula!
