A group of scientist are exploring a far off planet when they come across the ruins of a lost civilization. In the middle of the ruins, they found a giant, sitting robot. The scientists did everything they could think of to get the robot to respond, but it just sat there.

Finally the chief scientist yelled out in frustration, “Why would a civilization build a giant robot that doesn’t do anything?”

The robot stood up and said, “They wouldn’t.”

“Of course!”, said the scientist. “It stands to reason…”

It "stands to reason" is a saying that basically means it's obvious/makes sense. At least that's what I think the joke is about....

It was a sitting robot. It stood up to reason w the humans.

Ok so I completely misread this one..... I missed the comma between "giant" and "sitting"..... I just guessed there were no giants for the robot to "sit"
