Chicken pickin has a Broody Bantam but does not want one now! Silly Hen! Gardeningmama wishes she could borrow the broody for hatching call eggs!

The Emu egg was about to hatch! Bantambuy said Good night! Corny Caleb teased us—said the emu cam was being shut off….arcountrychick has a hatch going on too—one chick needs help though…The emus was then coming out…. it was out!

Gardeningmama chose the wrong time to make a Tuna Fish Sandwich and missed the emu breaking out of the shell….the said Good Night!

Luckily, a video was recorded and is now up on the emu hatch cam!

Pickitfarm lost one of the just hatched chicks overnight and another is not looking good.

Chicken pickin had three chicks hatch over night! Sally Sunshine has chicks hatching out of the cabinet cooler incubator! Sermas popping out like popcorn!

Ocap will start collecting for the hatch a long today.

Pinusresinosa asked about setting eggs for the hatch along. Mlmddh posted that the dates for setting for the set/guess contest, it was +/- two days. Wunjo posted that they were not in the hatch a long because they had to set early. We assured her that she only missed a contest or two but not the whole thing.

K epp asked for Duck Brooding advice. Gardeningmama said to use puppy pee pads over pine shavings. Chicken Pickin said to use a large tin pan to put the water fountain into. K epp wondered about using hardware cloth. Of course Sally Sunshine has a Guide!

Phoenixdott is already hatching chicks; tommysgirl scored a broody silkie and her brood….

Ddhyland has two hens working on going broody in the same nest box…Silly chickens!

Wunju was only going to have 11 chickens but is very good at chicken math. Now 60 will not be enough….

Coopsbyty has one Marans out. Check the picture in post 3713.

Even if your hygrometer says humidity is ok, if it looks like that with condensation, it is well over 80% and the chicks will suffocate in the shell.

Coopsbyty also shared pictures of an homemade bator!

Kiomey may quit if she has to wrestle 120 pound dogs! I wonder how she stayed in such good shape!
