Thanks!! I tried Googling it, and couldn't figure it out, lol! They are definitely slow to mature. I hatched BCM cockerels with them, and those boys are double the size of the Hollands. The Hollands still have a "chick look".

There is a CG breeder in Norco, CA on the Flock Talk FB page who has 2 dozen eggs for sale or trade. From Wikipedia re Hollands: Standard Weights: Cock - 8½lbs; Hen - 6½lbs; Cockerel - 7½lbs; Pullet - 5½lbs
From .http://www.critters360.com/index.php/california-gray-chicken-breed-10929/ California Grays are heavier than the Leghorn breed but not as large as the Barred Rock breed. The roosters average 5.5 pounds and the hens 4.5 pounds
So there you have it.![]()
Funny thing about CGs too is that the roosters are put over white leghorns to create a commercial layer called a California White. Because of this some people get confused and think that CGs are a hybrid too.![]()

The broiler pic was difference between a 2 day old & a 16 day old (2 weeks of growth). Both were broilers. I didn't get a pic of the Buckeyes...sorry.![]()
