My girls loved earthworms when they were little, but now they turn their beaks up. Not sure why, I think they got corrupted with mealworms...
Speaking of spoiled chickens, I finally solved the great grape mystery. I was about to just give up on grapes, but this morning, just by chance, I stuck a grape through the fence and held on tight. The chickens came up, started pecking at it, and soon were shredding the grapes right out of my fingertips. I threw a few on the ground... They went untouched. It's not that my chickens don't like grapes, they just want to be hand fed grapes!! Reminds me of a scene in a home in ancient Greece, wealthy chicken lying on a featherbed while being fanned with giant ferns, their human slave feeding them grapes...
Maybe this has gone too far?
