Red 4 x 4 Noticed your set up for pens and I'm getting ready to build separate cages for several colors of d'Anvers. Would you post a picture of your set up and answer a few questions:
What size are your pens for each breeding pair or trio?
How do you have them set up...stacked or separate?
Is there access to a run or a communal area?

Let me start out by saying that I am just starting out and figuring out what I am doing as I go. But I will show you what I have.

First I built an 8x12 building.

On one wall I have six pens 44x30, the bottom ones are 3ft high and the top ones are 2ft tall.

The other wall, because of the door I have one pen 72x 32 on the bottom and two 36x30 on top.

The six foot pen will later be used for a growing pen. I plan on building pens with runs this year for all my colors and then this building will be used for brooding chicks if everything works out. Any other questions,just ask.

Thanks, jj. I like your setup. I have that rabbit cage I see on top of your bank of cages there. I got it at a yard sale for a few bucks thinking it might be a good brooder.
