d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

Ok, just one more question. This bird here has a white breast but no white at all in primaries, secondaries or tail. I was wondering if he wouldn't be better to use in my birchen project?

man you're holding out now come on....

throw that cockerel in the trash and use this guy, he's 90% there or better, already. That's about how good my brown reds look coming out for this years. Cross this guy 100% back to those girls you showed and it should make clean finished birds for you next spring....haha then we can swap

I just want to say that for YEARS I have wanted an outside aviary In Alaska it is a CRAZY idea Aubrey your Danvers are making my dreams come true They have a swing and everything I still need to add some small tree branches but these little birds are far more arial than I ever imagined they would be My beloved Orpingtons have moved to second place on my favorites list Although I bet once I get flogged by Pigeon they will be tied ;)

that's great! and with rose combs they can take the cold a bit better than normal single combed breeds, but yall get pretty darn cold haha

Is there anyone in the Milwaukee, WI area that would like any of these roos? They are all amazingly sweet and need a loving home. I would keep them if I could but if they are Roos I need to get them to their forever home.

Hi, all. Took some photos this morning of all except the two youngest D'Anver chicks. Aimee's smallest one is having a tough time of it. After a long, nasty wet summer (geez, is it only JULY??), had to treat for cocci for the first time in years. That one may have just had a worse case of it than the others so I took it out of the sale ad and will just keep her here with Aimee. The others are thriving, as you can see from the pictures.

All chicks are out of Aimee with either Aubrey or Spike, can't say for sure. Spike thinks they're all his the way he watches out for every single one of them, lol. At least I know now that Aimee doesn't always throw chicks with stubs and can throw cockerels sometimes.

The oldest pair are 7 weeks old, a feather legged male and a nice clean legged pullet, which seems akin to my Wrong Way Lucy, always getting left behind or going opposite to everyone else. Out of the other four, mothered by Carly and Mina, there seem to be 3 pullets and 1 cockerel and that cockerel has feather stubs and one of the pullets has feather stubs. Both of the youngest two with Aimee are clean legged (not pictured here). The others are 5 and 6 weeks old.

Note the male, the one on the far right in this pic below, has no coloring other than buff, at least not yet.
