(Day 1) 29-Day Giving Challenge - A place for sharing.

So far I haven't been anywhere to do anything and I have no plans on leaving home in this ugly wind,,, so I don't think I have anything for today darn it. I sure enjoy reading what everyone is doing even I don't comment all the time. Thank you all.

I called my mom yesterday. I hadn't been calling her a lot recently and I feel guilty about it. She's in chronic pain and I find it difficult to listen to her tell me all about it. The way she tells me the same thing 10 different ways with only a a few words changed. Her pain has been debilitating and I should be talking with her so I did. At first it was hard to open myself up and just listen, but about 10 minutes into it, that's what I was doing... just listening and asking questions. She was in such a good mood when we got off the phone. I admit that I was too

Today the kiddo and I did volunteered again at The Furry Tale Farm. Lots of poop needing to be cleaned up and lots of furry mouths to feed. I'm starting to learn a little about horses and so is kiddo. We enjoyed ourselves!

Sent out some cards throughout the week, some harder than others. I have to say though, that it felt good to put stamps on them and get them in the mail!

Camelot Farms Do you find it feels good to get that stuff out of the house?

WriterofWords I love love love that you went in early for the parent teacher conference. What an amazing gift you gave that parent!

debiraymond I saw the picture of your haircut... I LOVE IT! Does the dsd like hers?

kezabel Oh, good idea to go through the kitchen!

jojo54 I love reading you in this thread!

feathersnuggles the news is bad. we are breaking zoning laws. we are trying to figure out what to do next. Great job meeting the neighbors!

Sonew Rides to work are most awesome! I didn't have a car for a while and had to walk to work and to pick the kids up and drop them off, all on foot everyday. I loved it when people would give us rides.

I helped out a teacher I really don't like much, stabbed in the back too many times by her.. anyway she had trouble with our new computerized testing and she's gotten in trouble twice already for screwing it up so I went to her room and showed her step by step how to do it. Maybe she won't twist the knife this week,,,,

I pick up produce everyday for my girls from one of our grocery stores.
D.gif
Most of the produce staff are great - friendly and helpful.
clap.gif
I always make a point to tell them how much the girls will enjoy whatever I'm bringing home.

There is one guy, however, who seems sullen and not too happy to have to put aside the rejected produce instead of tossing it all in the trash bin.
rant.gif
Today I made a special point to try to talk to him and be interested in him as a person.
frow.gif
It was very difficult because he wasn't too inclined to talk at all - and he never smiles!

I will try again another day.

Glad you were able to connect with your mom. I know how you feel. Sometimes, though, you just bite the bullet like you did and it turns out better than you thought it would. I call my mom every weekend and some calls are better than others.

Keeping my fingers crossed that things go okay for you.

I feel out of the loop. Somehow I have missed a few days. One day it is Friday, next thing I know it is Tuesday. I am not sure what happened there..................

That's right, Saturday was beautiful out. 50* Sunny and just a nice to be alive day. Hung out the laundry. Gave all the animals outside time.

I even let the cat out after I put the chickens back.

Sunday, I spent the day with DD#2 before her vacation was over.

We did girly stuff.

Yesterday I spent with DH going to the boneyard to get the part for my car. That is always fun.

I can't believe the month is almost over. Oh, yeah, I did get my first nephew this weekend too.

You should have heard him crying. He finally got out and boy did he go crazy. Climbing trees, running around. He is an indoor cat but the weather was too nice to be cooped up.
