Day 18.....Lockdown

Thank you! I need some "tough love" at this point. I will not open the incubator......I will not open the incubator... Lol
My DH handles them too much in my opinion. Ughhhh.... Well next batch will be mine when he has lost interest.

Good luck!

It's day 17 for my second hatch today too, I have 4 araucana and 3 Wyandotte eggs set.

How exciting Lyrika! I'm already anxious to hatch another batch of chicks. Please keep us posted

I am at the final day of lockdown for 7 eggs. Curious what issues can come up once at lockdown. Or rather what can cause an egg to quit once at lockdown

Keep the humidity high and don't open the incubator for any reason once you have pips. One of my 12 didn't hatch. All 12 looked great going into lockdown. The 12th one never pipped internally. I opened it up on day 24 and it was a totally formed chick, but it had not absorbed the yolk. I have to assume something was wrong with the little guy. Some things are beyond our control. Good luck with your hatch! Keep us posted.

Humidity and temps have been where they need. Lowest I've seen the humidity was 55%.
Hoping for. My first successful hatch. Should get home from work and see pips. Fingers crossed.
My other question is typically speaking where will the pip be, will the bird pip out of the upper side of the shell?
