Day 18 moved to hatch mode. IBW begins now. Day 21 PIPS! Now hatch!

I knew you didn't have the surface thing going on, which is why I said I think sometimes it's just how they are contorted in the egg. I think there are incubation problems that cause it, too, but with your preset bator, I sort of doubt that as well. Whatever the case, doesn't matter right now. You just have to deal with the baby however you see fit.

Yeah, I think the fact that they didn't get out of the eggs like they should have and their bones probably started getting hard in the wrong position is probably the problem.

I'm going to have to work on some curly toes too. This wasn't an idea hatch at all. I've probably learned more in this hatch than the other though.

I will make sure I put the bubble wrap on top of the bator when the room temp is low. The whole "when to help, when not to" thing is still up in the air though. I think that's just a gut feeling thing.

They are sure a messy lot. Their fluff is still stuck down to them in lots of places. I really think they will all make it except maybe the spraddle leg one. But it's doing a little better since I bandaided it's legs. everybody keep your fingers crossed

for Bob. Right now he's just bobbing around so Bob is a good name.

OK, I've got my fingers crossed for Bob! This has been an intense hatch to follow. You are doing a great job! How many more are left to hatch? It's just the JG that are left to hatch, correct? As everyone has stated, they are slower............so......... Hang in there!

Everything is done. I checked the unhatched eggs last night, and they never did pip the air sacks. So there is no hope for them. Of course I checked for any other signs of life and there aren't any. So this hatch is done, but won't be forgotten anytime soon

Nope, I'm afraid we are just hatchaholics with soft hearts. I'll nurse this little guy till the very last minute or until it's more humane to let him go. Hopefully we don't get to that point. He's getting around he's sleeping in the food right now. Somebody is yelling in there. Guess I better go have a look see. The healthy 5 got thrown out with the other chicks sooner than I wanted too, but they seem to be doing ok too.

Edited to add. Every time I go in there, I make sure he takes a drink too. He's doing better getting around than I had though he would this morning. Sure wish I could tell them apart. hahahaha

So, Deniece, what is the final count you got out of my eggs? If you need me to later on, I'd be glad to send you more Orp eggs, when I'm able to get enough to do you any good. Come the middle of May I should have a third Orp, my black pullet, Delilah, coming into lay. Ill need to test fertility on her eggs and ZuniBee has volunteered. Thought I saw you also volunteer to test fertility out of the goodness of your heart, didn't I?

Oh yes, I'd be happy to test fertility, it's my way of giving back to all those who've helped me

4- Blue Giants 2 from Belle, 2 from Henrietta. Both of henrietta are in the hospital brooder.
