Day 20

How are they doing now? Any progress?

Before I went to sleep at 1 in the morning the first one hatched. Woke up at six there were 3 more hatched. Just looked couple mins ago and two more are about to pop out. Coulple more have piped but think there 3 or 4 more that haven't piped yet. They seem to be doin fine. Here's a pic of the first one.

400

Congrats!

Thanks there's seven out and about now. Already looking for more eggs to full the bator up again lol. Thanks a lot for the advice.

It can take a long time. I have had healthy chicks that took like 18 hours. I have on now going over 24 with a good size hole but I am not holding out for this one

If the chick pipped and hasn't made progress after so long I'd investigate and see if it needs help. Sometimes get themselves into such awkward positions in the eggs they are unable to progress any further, the inner membrane dried out too much, trapping the chick in the egg. It is up to you, however, if you want to intervene or let nature take it's course.

Yesterday I did moisten the membrane, I had a sticky chick before. The humidity is right on at 64% the chick is breathing very hard. If I do go in to help where could I start? any good way to get it out without kiling it?
