Tequila hatched 9 last Thursday/Friday

Squirt hatched 6 over Saturday and Sunday.

I was down to 6 call ducks last year. Now within one week, I’m up to 29 and counting.

So potentially day 29 according to my original estimate and still no signs. My girl is still sitting but she did sit on infertiles for about two weeks over the due date last time before I pulled them. I'm starting to get a bit downhearted now! I'll leave a message everyday on what happens even if this just becomes a reference point for someone in the future! I'm wondering if this doesn't end well if it might be too late in the year for her to start laying and sit again... I think if that happens I might put them in the incubator.

I’m sorry to hear this. Many have said to wait an I know that’s hard. I think at this point I would candle you have the chart to go by. If these don’t hatch an you have a bator go for it.

I have work later but will get home at midnight so I could candle them and take some photos and videos just to see if people have any opinions? From candling previously all I've really noticed is black mass minus the air sac, no movement. I know I might be a bit off but I just have the sinking feeling something's gone wrong. I wouldn't have the nerve to open any up but wouldn't dream of doing that until day 40 or something! I've noticed the non-broody isn't laying so that might be me out for the year!

She may just be taking a break and will start back up. It’s still early in summer if that’s what your in now. Always hope. Someone yesterday had a duckling hatch 8 days after due date.

Really interesting. Thanks Miss Lydia! I'll keep waiting but I might try and take a couple of pics very quickly tonight if the weather is okay to open the hutch.
