Day 29 Toulouse eggs...... when to add a safety hole...

Day 8 update!

I couldn't wait to candle on day 10 so did them tonight :D

6/9 are looking good :clap

2 look clear and 1 has a blood ring but over all I'm pretty pleased with the 6.

6 is a great number.

Thanks for update.

I've got two out of three eggs just pipped externally this morning.

Now for the waiting... :pop
First time hatching goose eggs in an incubator too.

Congratulations on the pips :clap
Good luck with the waiting! Hope you have a great hatch and are able to post some pics :pop

Well, I didn't have to wait too long! The shell was pipped, the hole got a little bigger but I figured it wouldn't hatch until tomorrow sometime.

I come in from the barn less than an hour later and we have a baby goose in the incubator! That was lightning fast compared to the goose eggs that my banty hen hatched for me.

Question: How long can a gosling stay in the bator before it has to come out to the brooder?

Congratulations, how cute! :clap
I only had 2 hatch and they were in pretty quick succession. Once they looked pretty dry I moved them to the brooder so about 8 hours. Your gosling should be good to stay in there for a day or so though as they live off the yolk sac absorbed prior to hatch.

Thanks! #2 hatched last night and #3 is still in the process. After I was warned about how difficult geese are to hatch, I was not optimistic. I'm so surprised and pleased!

*UPDATE* All three hatched!

How are they doing? Growing fast I would imagine?

Day 26 today!

6 eggs are in lockdown :clap They all looked good when candled last night so I'm hoping for a good/stressfree hatch like last time. I do hope I will be lucky again :fl

I popped up to the farm to see the 2 from the last hatch and boy have they grown! They are looking really good and we're enjoying the sun out on the lawn. Just can't belive how fast they have grown
I didn't have my phone with me though so couldn't get a pic
