Day 30

Thanks! I will do that. I did look at some videos of hatching duck eggs and saw similar cracks, so that made me feel better
Well good can you post the links? i'd like to see too. Hopefully in the morning you'll have a lil duckling peeping at you.

If I can find it again. I can't seem to find the page that I found. I'm trying to remember the exact terms I searched under.

HELP! So, the duckling is still in the egg, the egg seems really dry, the shell has been broken but the size of the broken part is not very big, the cracked part not much bigger than it was yesterday. The duckling is still peeping. The egg was turned hole side down. Is that how it should be? And since it has been 24 hours... do I intervene or let the duckling still work this out?! And if I intervene can I just put the duckling back in with the mama?

Okay listen I asked the ladies on another thread if they can help you since i have never tried to help a duckling out of it's shell. Please try not to get ahead of this hopefully someone will be here soon to give you advise.. I'm pretty sure once the duckling hatches you can slip it back in with mama.

I haven't done anything yet. I have to take the kids to school now. I'm going to check on it when I return and make my decision then. I did urge the Mom to go over to the water and she got herself wet before returning to her nest, so that makes me feel better. Maybe that will help the little guy.

I'm in Oregon in the Pacific time zone... so I was actually leaving at 7. Going out to check on the baby now.
