DE ? Lime?

I have only used DE and have 0 odor (use the deep little method), no lice/bugs, and healthy chickens. When I had a small infestation of earwigs in the roosting area, I mixed in DE, stirred, next day- all gone! I don't like using insecticides since I eat my eggs...
