It's possible that her young are old enough to accompany her.... if they do that. I don't know much about weasels.. just that they are fearless and a mother will allow her own babies to eat her if no other food source is present (At least, I read that in a book some years ago

Oh no!! How terrible! I hope you can get that little ....well...you know what I want to say! Im sure we all know the bond that developes with a chicken and its "mommy/daddy" I have had issues with Minks. They are so hard to catch! Tie the bait to the back of the trap...so they have to tug to get it. This will set off the trap.Good luck...if you want Silver Pheonix eggs....I have ONE hen laying. I can get you a few...again, I am sooo verry sorry.

How devastating! It is horrible to lose one much less all but one! I am thankful there are no weasels in Texas. We do have our share of critters though.
