December hatch along

Pics
The ones that were just shipped are ameraucauna and the came from Florida

What variety(ies)?

I have Blue/Splash (lost the black cockerel & one Blue cockerel to fighting/heat stroke in September) and Lavender. The Blue/splash have just started laying - pretty sure just the blue pullets, not the lavs... IF get another coop done this weekend, will be splitting them up.

I call these our CRAZY birds - especially the blues. No matter how much I go out and handle them, they throw themselves into the wire/on top of each other to get away.

The lavs are more friendly (the one cockerel may be lending himself to the soup pot - he actually came after me the other day. for now, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but if it happens again? Too bad I didn't see which leg tag he was wearing) - coming up to be fed, hanging out around my legs "purring" when I put feed out.

Both of our varieties are supposed to have originated from Paul Smith lines (not sure how many generations?) - but as I learn more and cull, they will become mine... I'm just happy to have my first eggs!

1 Bielefelder started laying, too. FINALLY. Still no eggs from the 55 Flowery Hens. I have 9 pullets and 1 cockerel.

If I get my incubator in this month, MAY be able to set eggs for a January hatch.... OOOO, so excited.
