December hatch along

I’m sorry if I sound or seem like a dick my wife has just pointed out that sound like an a-hole I work nights and I have now been up for close to 36 hours so I apologize if I come off that way

5 of 6 Turkey babies hatched! Based on candling I was expecting 3, so I'm happy I left the others. 4 Narragansett and 1 Bourbon Red who snuck in.

Then a flub on the next chicken batch... decided to try hatching in cartons. Easy, right? Came home from work to 80% humidity and the cardboard carton bottoms had sucked up water and were wet. I had them positioned with hardly any contact anywhere near the water trays, but they still found a way!

Swapped those for styrofoam cartons... which I hope will be fine. I guess we'll see! It was about 8 hours of high humidity.

I hope I didn't ruin that hatch! They're due the 30th.

So, I don't typically pay much attention to how the eggs are positioned, as I usually have quite a few in lockdown. This time, being only 9, I lined them up neatly in three straight rows. Yesterday evening I noticed half of them had moved around, interesting! Now this morning, 12 hours before scheduled hatch time, I have two pips :D
