"Ok." Grace took a deep breath, and began her story, in a shaky voice. As she continued, her voice became stronger. "My mother, a Lady-in-Waiting, had a baby who was stillborn. The very same night, a basket was delivered to her. When she opened it, she found a sleeping baby girl. A note was tied to her wrist that said 'Her name is Grace. We can't care for a baby. Take care good care of her, we love her.' Her grief over losing her own daughter was fresh, and no one knew that her baby died, for she was alone, and no one heard her cries when she started labour. So, she decided to raise the baby as her own." She paused, the said softly "I was that baby." She hardly dared to look at Danielle's pretty face, which she knew must have a shocked expression on it. "She told me just before she died, when I was 10 years old. So you see, I was raised on charity. Only, no one knows it but me. And my adoptive Mother."
