Delaware x Barred Rock Chicks--Indy, Rex and Ira's Progress Thread

Marvin knows I'm easily confused.

I met him way back on another site probably in 2006 or so when I got my Hawkeye, who started my love of Barred Rock roosters.

Thanks so much for your opinion of the mother of that skinny, white legged cockerel, Marvin. That one was really confusing me! I also have a 19 week old pullet who looks just like that Sumatra-influenced hen and I'm pretty positive she is her daughter as well. How I got two of her usually-easily-identified and unwanted eggs under those broodies is a mystery, but I guess she just had to be reproduced for some reason. That skinny male is named Deacon and he is always after what I guess is his mother, Tiny, has been chasing her with ulterior motives since he was ten weeks old. LoL.

Oh, golly, the Dels and Del X's are super precocious! Ira was mock mating his broody D'Anver "mama" at 5 weeks old, much to her consternation, all while she was trying not to crush the two bantam size chicks underneath her, lol. Crazy Delaware males. Indy is the only one I've had that seemed to be on the slow side, more like the heritage Rock line of his mother.
