OK, well then Ill try the oxine mist if I can get a hold of some. Any suggestions? In the meantime I did try a little Dayquil today and it seemed to perk him up. He took a nice dust bath, mated with a couple of hens and ate a fair amount. Im going to give him more Dayquil tomorrow as if nothing else I want to ease his symptoms.
Mix 1/8 teaspoon per gallon of water. Add it to a bottle sprayer which can be bought in the garden section at Lowe's, Walmart etc.
Set the nozzle on the bottle to a fine mist. Then follow the instructions in my previous post.
If the Oxine comes with the citric acid activator, do not use it.
Here's a link where you can buy Oxine:

Thank you for those use instructions. I canceled an order of oxine plus the citric acid powder and just ordered the oxine. I have a mister that should work. Thanks also to the person who posted the chart for antibiotic use. Im sure that will be something I can refer to at another time.
A bit off topic but I too have been struggling with a case of bronchitis that will not go away. With this knowledge regarding fungi infections of the lungs Im wondering if I too have the same problem my little roo does. Can a human safely inhale the oxine as well? Im sure I will inhale some of the mist as I treat him in any case. I doubt I could avoid it.
Thank you so much, all of you, for helping me treat my little guy. I will let you know how he does with the treatment.

See your doctor. You might be dealing with something entirely different.:)

Update:
Tried a warm mist humidifier and it didnt help my little roo has been ill for months but it did seem to help and even cure similar issues one of the hens he is staying with started displaying (cough and stressful breathing). I was given a different one, a the cool mister, a DeVilbiss, that helps the most. The DeVilbiss spins and throws particles of water into the air. I had to block off much of the exit hole otherwise the environment got soaking wet. With a smaller stream it can be used for a longer period of time for each treatment. I recommend to anyone trying to disperse Oxine into the air to use some sort of fogging device over the warm mist humidifiers.
