Devastated-Hawkeye is Dead..

Oh Cyn - I'm so sorry for your loss. Just came across this thread and I hurt for you. Having had my first loss this past week I know what it feels like. I never would have imagined, before getting chickens, that anyone could become so attached to them, much less I. But I was soooo wrong. They become so special and when it's one of our favorites it hurts all the more. Time will heal. I'll pray for peace for you and for a bunch of little Hawkeye roo boys to hatch.

I just saw your post and feel so awful, so I can't even imagine how you must feel... so sick inside..

Hopefully your gals will cheer you up as the days progress.

Looks like all of us are learning something from this trajic event. Who would of ever thought about sensitivity to the whole procaine group.
It would have never crossed my mind.

roosters97, feel free to honor our Hawkeye that way. I have a feeling there will be a few Hawkeyes around soon. I liked the name, too, and it needs to be used.
RR, I never heard that, either. And I've read about things not to use on birds, but that never popped up in the stuff I've read, none of my chicken-raising books that I recall, or anywhere else. At least anyone who reads about Hawkeye's loss won't make that mistake.
