Developing My Own Breed Of Large Gamefowl For Free Range Survival (Junglefowl x Liege)

i read one way to tell if a RJF has been hybridized is in the comb. The comb on a hen RJF is very small.
Is it possible to determine whether a hen has a naturally small comb or whether she has been dubbed? I have a rescue that I thought was an American Game. (I'm new to chickens & I thought the AG hens just didn't have combs.) Now I'm learning that most American Game have combs, so...?

She probably just has a small pea comb, hens are rarely dubbed

If the comb has a row of little points on the top, it is probably natural, and is probably a single comb.

Otherwise, post a picture and hopefully someone can tell you. Dubbed combs, frostbitten combs, rose combs, and pea combs will all look different than a typical single comb.

Thanks. I think there are small bumps on it. It's always this pale color-- never red. And I don't see wattles or earlobes, either--or am I overlooking them? Is this normal for American Game?

(I chose for it to insert a thumbnail. I guess the original size will be visible if you click on it? Let me know if I need to post the original large size.)

I can’t tell for sure but that looks like a pea comb to me.

It is normal for any chicken with a pea comb. I'm pretty sure she does have a pea comb.

The pea comb gene causes the comb to be smaller, with several rows of little rounded bumps (like peas). The pea comb gene also causes the wattles to be smaller or non-existent. I'm not sure if it also affects earlobes or not, because I think I've seen some chickens with other comb types that have really small earlobes too.

I don't know enough about American Games to know what type of comb is normal for them, so hopefully someone else will answer that part.
