LOL, I guess that means no one took offense to my asking if that huge scary smiley had a version packin a shotgun! Hey, I shoot skeet, not animals Sorry I had to sneak in quick Sal, It will be ok with the coops, the cords would be the issue, as long as they are hiding, you're good....The other stuff I said about is just the Paralegal in me, you're good

You know, I can't help it, all questions, gotta cover all possibilities, :frow Bye again!!!!
Heck no! My favorite sweatshirt is a pic of the Starbucks symbol but she's holding a gun in each hand and around it instead of Starbucks coffee it says I <3 guns and coffee (that's supposed to be a heart) I get at least 5 compliments from people a day when I wear it, ranging from cops to 80 yr old women!

Thanks for all of your help Sally. Things seem to be going much more smoothly and i will have a picture for you as soon as everyone is out.

I do have a question or a point of debate for everyone. I bought one of those hova bators from the lady at my feed store and she said that I should probably just go for a cabinet incubator or a brinsea (neither of which she carries), because when you use those styrofoam incubators, you get all cockerels because you can't control the temps so well. .

I nodded and smiled, and kind of blew it off. But I incubated my eggs at about 101.5/102 and I had a perfect hatch, 9/9. They are all pullets. Now I remember something vaguely from 4-H about temperature and sex. Does incubation temp influence sex? Or is my roo just shooting XX's.

Now I am sure to get in trouble being snarky to newbies again - but how many current users have read the hatching 101 by sally (thats linked in my thread)?

Call me all sorts of names but I would also like to encourage people to research themselves. There is no thing as a dumb question, but there are simple ones that have been answered thousands of times.

No Sally - sorry if I upset you but you dont get paid for this and today you are stressed out.

Lets try something (and I am not picking on anybody - just using an example)

try search: "help with humidity?" in the search box............

Now even if you had not found sally's hatching 101 sticky thread - you would get so much info.

Below are the search results - I wont make another comment on it.

I wasn't asking about humidity, I was asking about the influence of temperature on sex. It was more of an opinion question, not mining for free info.
Sorry to try to engage in conversation. I'll refrain from now on. Didn't know this thread was an exclusive club.

the only thing lowering or increasing temps does is kill the chicks of the other sex. it cannot convert them.

sex is decided by the hen.

The chance of getting 9 hens from 9 eggs on a 100% hatch is 3.125%

Okay Sally, I bucked up and opened one of the eggs, after looking at the last chicks to hatch. They are extremely small even for d'Uccles. Here is a picture, if you can tell, my air cells all looked like the ones you showed on day 18. I'm wondering if I didn't have some sort of bacteria. The liquid in the egg is thick like syrup and wet, if that makes sense. It poured out thick, it had no smell and the chick internally pipped.
Incubator Hovabator 1583 forced air
I used one of these and one of these
