I finished!  im caught up....holy postings bat man. 

So... since I just jumped into this thread without invite since it seemed like the place to be, Did I ever really introduce myself?   I actually have 5 free minutes.  Shhhh, don't  tell the kids!

My name is Renne, married for 18 years to the hubs TJ.   I'm 35 he's 39  We have 5 daughters together.  17.  14. 11. 9. Almost 4.  And are the most awesome legal custodial Guardians to two boys.  19 months, and 9 weeks.   Hoping soon to turn to adoption but the mother is unwilling so its in God's hands.  That makes for us 7 kids  .      5 dogs 8 chickens 16 chicks in rural cow country Missouri.  TJ  is active army at the end of his career and I am a part time preschool teacher for our church preschool.   I don't know if I ever mentioned I never thought I really liked kids...guess I was wrong!

Guess I'm a little hormonal right now cause country livin just seems so warm. I know it's hard financially for many but just seems like we all appreciate each other more when times are hardest. Welcome rennerae wonderful Ti have ya. Please ignore my hormonal two cents! Lol

Today's summary 4/30 (last night ~ current)

HUMPTY DUMPTY IS STILL GOING STRONG - we are all amazed at this little marans !!

Oz .. how is that pipping going over there ?
Oz shared a wonderful picture of himself and family ... although the kids look a little unhappy , especially that sweet little girl of his (pic is post 13902)

rbaker gave oz a lead on some scovies he is looking for ... more power to ya'll

hill has a friend called pitbullgirl that should be stopping by... lets all keep our eyes out so we can give a warm welcome !!

mstricer told us the amusing story of the chickens and the onions - as her son was planting the chickens were scratching and pullng up .. they finally put a hoop over it to protect them and mich is gonna be a grammy soon !!!!

tony stopped in and loved the spaniels and humpty's story
he also has 25 heritage deleware chicks that should be here today or tommorow - here yet tony ?
and he needs more incubators lol people still want his RIRs!

Sally loves her spaniels and the new ones will possibly be less white as the mom has ton of brown and tan ..
she has buttons, turkey, silkie, and brahma in lockdown

gardeningmama is thrilled for mich and personally loved being induced ...
also she has a wrong end pipper she is worried about ... go pipper !!! and has not come back to report anything quite yet

Sally feared he was here no more,
She picked him up, gave his boo boo a wrap,
He chirped & wiggled & we all said HOLY CRAP!
and is getting a few of the silkies sally hatched out



rockashelle stopped by and offered encouragement for sally and humpty
and is all unpacked and starting on the coop when she gets back from texas -- her son is graduating from Air Force boot camp !! YAY ! Congrats!!

Doug is still anxiously worrying about his goose eggs.. anyone with help there? Waiting for him to candle and get back to us





Rennerae finally checked in and got her addy to sally for the eggs (right before sally chucked them into the woods(or her bator cause we all know sally)
Renne gave us the introduction she hadn't got around to yet (see post # 13957)
and is doing the happy dance for the eggs heading her way !! and has just reached the "just hatched" status - yay renne !! and good luck with the adoption !!
she also shared some pictures of her pretty pretty chickies !

cochins is setting up the bator again it seems and has but the pennies in the well in a pretty pattern

kelly stopped by and ask about humpty

3D has finally stopped back in !!! and thinks that there will be group chicken picture to share in the near future

chirping cricket stopped in and is crossing fingers for humpty as well and believes the humpty story might go viral ( i agree !! )

roxannemc stopped by and offfered words of encouragement for humpty

sparky likes that others are using the penny idea and thinks 3d needs to stay around
and explained to renne what the pennies are for

toast n jelly places a comforter under the eggs when candling in hopes of not getting a humpty dumpty

p.s. my eggs got here today ... and weird thing .. i dont see air cells except in two .. maybe they are just too dark .. and severl are a bit porous.. maybe that is why .... laters all !!

I'm not feeling good about these shipped eggs!! It's only been 5 days but I candled 2 eggs and see nothing going on!! All I see is the air cells moving around.

If I wasted $45 I will NEVER buy shipped eggs again.

My chick made it out finally at 4:30 a.m. She looks great, but I'm confused on the parentage. I thought I put a SLW egg in, but baby came out with feathered legs. So...must be the Buff or Light Brahma. This keeps happening to me, LOL! I need to dye my SLW's vent I guess, cause I obviously have no clue which egg she lays!

I'll post pics this afternoon! Today's my day to clean the church, and after that I go pick up my other 3 Call Ducklings!!!! YAY!

My first batch of shipped eggs was $50 and I didn't get a single chick. I too said that I wouldn't buy them again, and we all see how that worked out.

When you buy shipped eggs, your are taking a risk but we have learned many things to help improve our hatch rates by working together on this thread.

It also greatly depends on the packaging that the seller ships the eggs in. Did you use Oz's letter?

I just received tracking information. Crazypetlady just shipped out the chicks that I won for the New Year's Day hatch-a-long. They should arrive tomorrow. Hopefully all alive and well.

I hate the anxious wait for chicks in the mail. I need the nail-biting emoticon again.

She's so beautiful in the first picture, and in the second, she is full of energy and life! I love her smile!
