I'm down two 3 chicks. One is peeping the other is still in the shell and one is moving around pretty strong. Nothing left to do now but keep an eye on them and pray they make it through.

i tihnk my chicken just laid a double-yolker…

also, if there any reason why sometimes her eggs are a rich dark brown, and others they are different bands of shades of brown? like in the picture?

also, i had 11 chicks hatch! but Robin and Squirt didnt make it, bringing it down to 9 survivors.

I just wanted to tell you I am hoping your 3 make it. I have been following your progress. Since this hatch did not go according to your plan then you need to try again. There is something so amazing when your eggs start hatching knowing that you accomplished it on your own. Not sure if Sally gave you her opinion or not but my 2 cents on this hatch...your temp was too low. Wal mart has a digital thermometer/hygrometer combo for like $10. I use one in both of my bators and they are steady and true.

There is something so amazing when your eggs start hatching knowing that you accomplished it on your own. Not sure if Sally gave you her opinion or not but my 2 cents on this hatch...your temp was too low. Wal mart has a digital thermometer/hygrometer combo for like $10. No reasons why her colors are darker/lighter/banded/speckled. She is just an artist and enjoy her work.

Thank you so much!! This has been so stressful on me! I feel like such a failure. I do have the Walmart thermometer/hygrometer. 1 question where to you set it in your incubator? And also where do u place it when ur eggs are in a turner? It's so big and bulky. I really do hope my 3 make it. I'm going to try again but I'm def gonna slow down and make sure I read everything and know a lot more about it. Thanks for all the encouragement!! I love this forum and everyone that has helped me out so much and given me input!!
