By the way, I'm currently working on my AA degree and I'm seriously considering becoming a vet. I really think that it's a job that I would enjoy, but I'm not so sure that I'd be able to put down healthy animals.
oh how cool! Its a mindset I believe, its hard but it is something we need to deal with and in that case at least its not your pet, its the owners and kids heartbreak that would kill me and I am sure most in any medical field have shed a few tears and have well scared hearts. But that is what makes them all even more special.

I dont think I can get pics this am of tiny, Lil Lucas was up all night crying his ear hurt plus I have been dealing with his asthma for a week with no end in site, so I will call for an appointment and pray they have room for him so I dont have to run all the way to an outpatclinic because I havent a clue where its at in the city and I HATE THE CITY! : (

Okay, update on Bella. She is still in the animal hospital, and they just did a surgery on her to remove the unhealed yolk sac. They said it was a breeding ground for bacteria. They were going to wait a day until she got stronger because of the medication she was taking, but they did it today because they were not going to be there in the hospital tomorrow because they were going to a zoo, and they were worried that she might get worse. Anyway, the surgery went well, and they were mainly worried because of the anethstesia (spelling!) and that she wouldn't wake up, but she did wake up and was peeping her head off! :) I got to visit her before the surgery, and I got some pictures (she was definitely feeling better). I might post them later. She has to stay there for two more days at least to recover. Remember, every 24 hours costs 200 bucks or so (plus surgery and meds.)... All I have to say is I LOVE MY MOM! xD I will have to pay her back some day...
I am still hopeful!

Also, Sally the other chicks can't get it, and it is not contageous!

Morning everyone. I discovered this morning we are out of internet credit and would you believe it took about 2 hours to get it topped up?

I cannot top up unless I'm online and I cannot get online without credit. Sooff to town to get into a wifi zone and then the webpage wouldn't work...

Sally, I found a PM I send to another member where I mentioned the "due date" for the duckies, it's the 25th. Thank goodness I had that PM still. I was wondering... LOL I candled them and they look great but nowhere near ready for lockdown!

Oh, I have a broody. And I have no idea where she's made her nest! I've looked for her this morning, but she's hidden herself too well and we've got 100's of possible places. I'm going to spy on her tomorrow morning when I feed them and watch where she goes and how many eggs she's got hidden. Of course I have no idea how long the sneaky cow's been at it either! LOL I went out first thing to give them their morning scratch and heard that unmistakable "cluck-cluck" and saw her, all puffed up, stuffing her face. I went to get a coffee and when I came back out she was gone again. Hopefully I will catch her out tomorrow.

No, a sneaky one!

Talk about broody cows, our neighbour's cows have been busy busy. I'm not actually sure how many new calves they've got by now. Oh man, those things are cute!

Were they able to make sure that the tendon was correctly place? or was it just an infection?

If it's slipped, then you need to ensure that the tendon is back in place or else her leg will be deformed for life. What type a split are you using now? is the leg being kept straight, or in a natural position?

I hope I don't sound rude... I just want to make sure that if it's slipped, it's staying back in place. I feel so bad for my Charlie and a slipped tendon in very treatable if you catch it in time.
They didn't think the tendon was slipped, I am more with you on it, but none of us could find it. I tried and tried to find it, manipulating her leg back and straight to try to get anything to change.
I totally understand the urgency, and frankly it may already be too late. The joint seems stiffer. So she's getting physical therapy every time I go in to the brooder room.

You don't sound rude at all. You are so much more the expert, I wish you lived near me! :) I am thinking of re-splinting it today in a natural bend, but almost straight set. At least that way she will have a straight-ish stiff leg instead of a very bent stiff leg.
