Did u know that PAM cooking spray kills ants?

I'm guessing that the oil smothers the ants.

Have you wondered why the cancer rate it going up in the U.S.? My sister was diagnosed with lymphoma a year and a half ago at age 37 and it seems that every where we turn there are friends or people that we know that are being diagnosed with cancer of some sort. Ever since my sisters diagnosis, our family has been reading a lot about cancer causing products. I have come to the conclusion that it is just the way our food is made now. All of the preservatives are not a good thing. If my kids want cookies now, I bake them from scratch. I will not buy snacks from the store anymore. We make them! No more canned vegetables either! Only fresh or frozen. Did you know that deli meat is horrible for you?!?! The list goes on and on! Very scary!

I'm not really trying to start a debate, and I think it's awesome that you're able to provide wholesome, home-cooked foods for your family, but I do want to point out that it's quite possible that the cancer rate is exactly (or close to) the same as it was in the past. We have modern technology available to us that helps with diagnosis so we know what the problem is. In the past, people slowly declined of "a wasting disease" or whatever, with no clue as to what was really happening in the body. Not everyone who died had a post-mortem so that the doctors knew the cause of death. This would be interesting to research.

I have a great-great, who's death certificate, under Cause of Death, just says "gravel" WHAT does THAT mean!?

I do agree that today's food is getting bad, and prolly the cancer rate is going up, but like the chicken lady said, long ago, people "took sick" or "wasted". Likely, there was a lot more cancer than one could know.

I had some problems with big ole ant hills when I first bought my home. I went and bought and big box of borax..mixed it with regular table sugar and put bowls down around the hills. Within a month, there were no more ant hills in my yard.

The oils probably stop up their ability to breathe when it coats their exteriors and subsequent holes if I remember right.

I think increase in cancer is three fold, and can't be contributed to just one thing. We live longer (few died from cancer a few hundred years ago when life span was short and many died early for other reasons), technology/screens to detect it has increased exponentially over the years (I get my face and neck screened at the dentist yearly!), and we are living less healthy as a society over all (prepared foods such as ALL packaged meats contain nitrates for example). Now if money was being spent in research to understand and stop it, rather than being wasted on things such as.... I will stop here.
