Did you know, I wish I was a better gardener, because I hate buying stuff, like lettuce, at the store.
I also wish I was a better "farmer" in general, so I could provide a lot of our food with out having to buy all those hormone fortified foods.

Yes.
DYK Duckling has had me singing "Jesus Loves the Little Ducks" for three nights in a row? I have to point out (and name) imaginary ducks on the ceiling too. Sometimes we count them.

:love I don't care any more that she likes spiders. That's just too cute!!

My mom went in the 70s, I was born while she was in graduate school. At that time, there was probably 15% women in vet school. She is actually a little worried about the lack of male graduates, because a balance is better, and, like I said earlier, women don't typically like working with livestock, especially coming from the city. That said, my dad worked and did all sorts of odd jobs so that they would not have to take out any loans, and they applied for every single scholarship available, plus the instate tuition perk using the wichi program. They finished school almost debt free, even having had 2 children during mom's graduate school years. We were super poor though. There was a lot of sacrifice and making do, but now my parents are doing very well.
I think this is awesome! My daughter wants to be a peterinarian, I can't wait to help her get loans (honestly) I think it is a great field to get into and wish I had

If it makes you feel any better, I would bet that lettuce would be really hard to grow in Texas. I know what you mean about the store bought stuff. DYK I feel very fortunate to have a lot of farmers markets around here.
