DYK if I had 1/4 of an acre of land, I could produce mor then 3/4 of my family food?

I can produce a lot of our food here, and we could survive on it, (beings it is just the two of us) but the variety would be lacking. (This of course means I would have to shot the darn deer that decimate my garden)

I actually grew 5 watermelons last year that got ripe and went over 20 pounds each. That only happens once every 10 years or so. The growing season is not long or hot enough from them most years.

I have more broccoli and cauliflower in the freezer than I will eat in 4 years, along with way too much sauerkraut.

I will not be wasting space trying to grow head lettuce ever again, as I am not polluting my garden with duck poop...

Chooks killed my watermelon 2 years ago, next time frost took it, and this summer it just plain didn't grow... Gonna have to beg more cow poo off my neighbours :lau

Did you know I think I might need to not let my chickens out of the coop until they finish laying for the day? They've been sneaking out of the fence line, into the brush... and no eggs today so far. I think that means they are laying some-where else... so they'll be trained.

No eggs in coop, no letting out!

Sorry your sick heny.

DYK I was sick off & on from September thru December. I finally went to the Dr. because I convinced myself I was dying & found out I had a severe sinus infection. I never usually go to the doctor, but I'm so glad I went this time!!!

Running nose, feeling cold , blocked nose, sneezing headache and maybe mild hige temp, = cold mostly cause by Rhino virus

Hige temp ,over 38C, head, muscle and bone, aches, running nose, shivers act= flu Influenza virus.

1. 2-4 cups of freshly squeezed orange juice
2. Fresh made rooster and vegetables soup.
3. Fresh garlic cloves, if you can handle, add some hot peppers!
4. Good rest, and nice cup of brendy, or whiskey before bed! For medicinal purpose only, of course ;)
